Colorado Muslim Society’s Statement on

The Zazi Terror Case

The Colorado Muslim Society (CMS) was terribly shocked to learn of the possible involvement of Mr. Zazi in a potential terror plot. Mr. Zazi is a new resident of Colorado and a rare visitor of the Colorado Muslim Society. Most of our community members had not met Mr. Zazi or known of his presence within the community.

Writing on behalf of the Colorado Muslims community, the Colorado Muslim Society strongly condemns any acts of violence and terrorism against innocent lives in our country and elsewhere in the world. CMS recognizes that on 9/11/2001 dozens of Muslims also died in the attacks on the twin towers. CMS is opposed to any activities by Muslims, Christians, Jews or any other group that undermine the safety and security of our nation and that can cause harm to the people of America. The Colorado Muslim Society is very vigilant about any activities that may cause harm to our country and/or our community, just as other Churches, Synagogues, schools, corporate headquarters and government agencies should be.  We have been closely working with the authorities to ensure that no harm can come to our city, state and country as a result of anybody’s mischievous activities.  We shall continue to work closely with the authorities and our interfaith partners in Colorado to ensure that our community enjoys the best relationships that provides conducive environment for dialogue and cooperation towards achieving peace and prosperity in our communities and society.

Lessons on Islam

ALLAH

Muslims believe in One Universal Creator and Sustainer of all the worlds. The Arabic term, ‘Allah’ means the God, the one worthy of worship and service. God possesses in fullness the attributes of perfection and superiority. Nothing in the universe can be compared to Him. God is the source of all that is positive and good. That which is negative or evil cannot be attributed to God. God is Merciful and Compassionate. The Creator of all. No creature shares any of his divinity.

In Christ, we find a beautiful example of God’s mercy and love for humanity manifested in a man. But God Himself is infinite in all His glory and perfection. No man or even the entire universe could contain Him. God cannot be worshipped through Christ or any other person or symbol. He must be worshipped alone as Himself, in the manner that He revealed to us.
